Windows 98, suddenly hangs, desktop with icons disappear

    Dear Friends,

Please suggest me to solve my problem I have 4 systems connected in LAN.
System are not connected to Internet. From the last month, Suddenly, the system halts without any responce and all icons on desktop disapears. But when the system is powered on again, it shows all the icons normally, and it starts working in healthy mode. It opens all applications and suddenly at some times the above problem rises, stoping all the work.

I shall be grateful to our friends, who can solve the problem. I am sure, our friends can solve it.

    cordially yours
    Moahn

Windows 98 is inherently a bad operating system that runs on prehistoric fat system. I suggest you install windows 2000 or xp on all the machines and network safely with ntfs. Good Luck! (It is a fact that win 98's registry corrupts itself over time, it was designed so for you to upgrade to new msoft operating systems and make microsoft richer!)
