DOS prompt problem

W2k Professional is running on my PC.
From two days I'm facing a great problem with DOS.
And another problem is that, When I tried to install or run
any Virous Removal Tools, it's not running. After click on the
specific ".exe" file its run but after moment its out. And when
I write "cmd" on RUN menu, it's just show on screen for the moment
and out of screen.

Now there is no AntiVirous on my PC. So that I'm feeling unsafe.

How can I relise from there.

is your service packs updated?

2nd..
do you have any firewall software installed on your pc?? is your pc running behind a firewall?? is that's the case.. disconnect your pc from the local network n try to install your Antivirus Software once again.. good luck to u my fren..

another option is to maybe get a different anti virus? i know you can go to download.com and get a free edition of avg anti virus

First at all, get a good antivirus software and their last update for virus definition and scan engine. I recommend Kaspersky Antivirus.

Disconnect your network cable.
Then, restart the computer in safe mode. Try to install the antivirus. It should work. Update it! Then, scan the computer.

If you have problems with this, try restarting the computer in normal mode, then use an online antivirus scanner.
