checkpoint software

I was at a friends office and tried to open a local site but I couldn't. The page read "checkpoint.... cant load page". I tried other sites like facebook and all were blocked. That is very awesome tool. So far, I tried ISA 2006 but it is really headache and too complicated. I wonder if anyone knows checkpoint security system? My search so far just returns zonealarm...i donno if they are related.

Anyone know how to use it? Or better yet, any alternatives for windows or linux environment? I want to manage bandwidth and websites thru such a software for 50 computers.
