and what exactly is your question then? which would be a good idea to play around with it? If so then i would suggest creating a table with few lines and cols in the MySql DB. then may be a website with an inputfield for some filter for a search-query and an output area where you throw in the resultset for display. Then you even need a PHP (or Perl) script that glues DB and website together. You can use the 'old' method of handling everything inside the serverside script (PHP) which requires page reloads or go the more modern way with XMLHttpRequests - like modern Single Page Apps (SPA) do. completing such gives you most things that a modern webapp today has to implement at a much smaller scale.
