I have A201601, A201602, C201601, C201602, 201601C and 201602C on my database i would like to generate A201603 can someone give some tips?

The first tip is to ask questions clearly. Non of us are psychic and non of us know anything about your database.
If the question is "I have as series if fields which are a mixture of numbers and letters, and I want to increment the numeric part by 1" then you might get an answer.
More likely you will get questions about the possible formats of your strings like are they always ANNNNNNN or NNNNNNA or NNAANNN etc. Where A is a letter and N is a number
