Programming radio via usb/commport

Hi, i am looking for how to get data from my radio, to get making program for programming it!

using SerialNET.Port. ByteArrayToStri ng() before reading using Port.Read()

Should i read in binary, or what type do i need to read data from radio? "We call this data "codeplugs" "!

My radio, is a Motorola Mc Micro,
and i need to get software made for windows as the software who exist is only made for DOS!

And do NOT want to work with computers newer then computers made for DOS!

otherways, is it a way to make program that shuts down todays CPU's down to speed of 486?
