    password and linking two forms

    I am working on my new project in visual basic 6. I would like to create a password for my first page where I have username, password and two command buttons one for login and the other for reset.

    Its after creating the password that I do also need to know the linking code of the two forms. That is after entering the password by clicking on login it should take me to the second form. thanlks

    What assistance do you need? Seems you know perfectly well what you want...Now just build it... We're not going to write your program, so if that's what you want, forget it. Show us the code you already have and we'll see if we can help you.

    Oh, and please don't double post your question!

      Code:
      dim realpassword As String
      dim ichances As integer 3 strikes counter
      private sub Form_Load()
      realpassword="aaa" <==
      Text1.PasswordChar="#"
      end sub

        That's it? I don't see event handlers for both buttons (hint!), a check if the passwords match (hint!), a declaration of the second form (hint!) and the calling of a new form (hint!). Basically, you've got nothing... It's pretty difficult to help you on this one... Try to find out more about the hints and then come back.

          I moved this question to the VB forum since you are using VB6.

          Good luck,

            To create and check password use Microsoft Access or Word and link it to program. To goto other form, say Form2, from Form1 use

            Form2.Show vbmodal
            Form1.Hide

              Problem with that code there smartchap, is that as soon as form2 is closed, form1 will hide itself but the program will still be running with no forms visible...

                Make corrections like

                Me.Hide
                Form2.Show vbModal

                may or may not use vbModal. It depends on your requirement.
