Check the properties of the WindowsMediaPla yer1 object you have.

    Is there a "playState" property?

Maybe that is what you need to check but even then as soon as you have idle time like that with a user on a desktop app you have a problem because now you are waiting for an event.

There are two events to check for here as possible triggers

    1) When some kind of property of the media player changes, you can continually loop until that property changes (Do While [STATE] = True)

    2) Somehow get the length of the media being played in terms of time, and set a timer control to that interval

    VB6 Timer Control

Another suggestion I would have is to step through your code carefully and try to determine what events and properties are changing whenever media is being played, that might give you hints into how you can capture an event to move it to the next item.

Lastly I would suggest patience. The forum is free after all and most of us spend our free time helping people at their own jobs, or learning experiences at the expense of our time. Especially the more complex or specifically the more obscure the problem is, the more patience you will need to have.
