Accessing .chm Help file from VB 6 application

How do I access a .chm HELP file from a VB 6 application. I have previously used WinHelp, but that is no longer supported for Vista, so I have converted my .hlp files to .chm, but so far have not been able to access them from my application.

I use the shell statement and the hh.exe which reads chm files.
