I just started VB and well every time I save and come back I can't open my files. Sometimes it says "rex string" and other times I can see the code but can't run it and other times I get a huge program that has a lot of random stuff.

Thanks, I am using VB 2005. When I save it gives me weird stuff like a form called what the form was named then .rex. Sometimes it looks like an Access file almost, or sometimes it looks like my program wih a lot of stuff on it but with a a bunch of quotes or maybe the debug. Sometimes I try and run the program; I get the last program I ran.Last edited by Killer42; Nov 8 '07, 05:24 AM.Comment

Hi,
Looks like you are opening the Form1.vb file through Windows Explorer. Try to Open the Project File in the VS2005 IDE.
You need to open the files having ".vbproj" extension.
Forms here will be having 2 files with same name and different extensions.
Form1.vb
Form1.resx
So, when you simply try to open the .vb, you will get that error.
Take care while saving the forms, save all the related stuff in the same folder.
Regards
