    Appointment book in Visual Basic

I would like to create an appointment book in visual basic as a stand-alone program that you don't need any Office programs loaded. I don't need any code just some ideas on file setup for saving the appointments on a daily basis.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I am looking for suggestions seting up the project. I have created the form that has the times of the day setup in 1/2 hour increments with text boxes for each time increment. I'm not sure in what format to save the daily appointments in.

      Thanks

      John

I have not written any code yet so it would be in my project code.

Well..... in my original post I was asking for suggestions on how to store the data. I have the form layed out and wasn't sure in what format to save the data in.

I guess I could have a record for every day with the hours from 7:00am to 9:00pm and a data entry for each half hour.

So you have to choose database for your system according to your system requirement and hardware requirement.

Well I'm not sure if I need to create a blank entry in the database for each day and then have a blank entry for each 1/2 hour block or just store the data that has been entered in the form. Any suggestions??

Just point me which database you are using (I always suggest to use Sql Server)
Which one you want to use Sql Server Or MS Access?

(Choose according to data entry size and data process.)

                        Okay Good,
                        • Design a form to make entry for appointment
                        • A form visible = false to Popup appointment when the system time hits appointment time.
                        • Use a timer control to check the appointment time and system time is equal.

I think this will help you with basic requirement.
