Any Body Have made any game on VB6

    Hello everybody.

Is anybody making any type of game on VB6?
If yes then please reply me if not then I tell you I have already made some games on VB6 but these are board games. Like tic tac toe and a Pakistani game it's very interesting we called it box making.

Interesting to see a game developer as me!! I have developed a card game with VB6.0 as front end and MS Access as back end. Would you mind sending your games to [e-mail address removed by Moderator] (my mail address), so that I can learn something more. Do post your doubts.

Sorry, I've removed your e-mail address from the post. If people want to contact you off-list they should go to your profile and hit the "Private Message" or "Send an e-mail" links. Site policies prohibit the posting of your own or anyone else's e-mail address.

Oh, and if I might make an observation, the word is questions, not doubts.

Oh, by the way. I forgot, I created a very simple game a few years ago, in VB6 (or maybe version 5, or even 3 - I forget).

It was one of those "space war" games, where you have one pointy spaceship and one that looks a little like the Enterprise, and they fly around and shoot dots at each other. I still have it here somewhere.

It was a pretty stupid little thing, and the coding is probably really ugly. But it did some nice stuff, like smooth rotation of the ships, shields to absorb the shots, an option to have a black hole trying to suck the ships in, and I forget what else...

I did Pac-Man in VB6 a couple of years ago I never did get it working that well though. The ghost weren’t that aggressive. I finished it in VB.Net for a class assignment.

I don't remember how I rotated the ships. Will have to track down the source.

This is the VB6 Code. Note that I did this as a school project for an intermediate Visual Basic class at a community college. I was unfortunate enough, or maybe just that unlucky, to take the basic class in VB 6 and the Intermediate class in VB.Net do to a change in the college. As a result I started my final project in VB 6. This code is poorly commented. I did the final code in VB.net so this code may not be complete. Hope it is some help.

Oh and I never did get those pesky ghost to work that well.

I've made games pretty prolifically in VB and VBA since I was little.
Here are some that can be found on my website (http://www.SteGriff.co .uk)

                        Accel Game
                        Move World

Some of them have screen redraw issues. I've never found a way to sort that out, if anyone knows of a way, please email me :)

I think it's just a matter of working out the distance and angle from your ship's centre point to each dot. Then adjust the angle and draw the point. I seem to recall there was rather a lot of Sin() and Cos() calculation going on.

Your attachment of OX2.zip alarmed my anti-virus with a W32.Chir.B@mm threat for which the description is on http://securityresponse.symantec.com...072920-3942-99

I just tried to open that ZIP and also hit a virus/worm alert, so I've deleted it from the message. We don't like to distribute such things here at TSDN.
