• What exactly do you want to achieve, in terms of backup and/or restore?
• What version of Visual Basic (assuming you are using VB)?
• Why do you need to do this in VB? There are heaps of backup tools already available.
• What version of Access?
• How big a database? How hevily used? By how many users?
