Help in Visual Basic 2005

Hi all,
I am new to Visual Basic 2005,I have a project where in i have to get a List of installed softwares available on a pc and have to get hardware and network information available on a pc how can this be done .

I am totally new to Visual basic 2005 pls forward me few links that will provide some codes and guidelines
