    Hi,

    To Make Project1.exe
Click on File and Click on make Project1.exe.
But u need to create a set up package using Package and Deployment Wizard.
U have to Install this Set-up packagre to client machine

    Regards
    Veena

firstly go to file option then there will be an option named MAKE PROJECT .EXE
when you click on that option the program will compile your project to .exe format after that you will be able to run that project on any computer without having vb

Well, not any computer, but most all updated Windows computers. Your executable will run on those computers but maybe not those that that are fully updated; it depends on the DLLs they have. To get around that, use the Package and Deploy Wizard; it includes the updates for DLLs when it's approptiate.

If you want to use the .Exe file without using the VB Setup then you have to make sure that the basic .dll files are available in the system windows folder. And if you have used the any components in the project then you have to copy that component Dll to the system widows folder.

If you still does not want to use the setup at any way then here is the best suggestion..... ............... .

You have to keep all the required DLL files beside by the EXE file before you double click on it to execute (APP.PATH).

As far my knowledge you can run the EXE in any XP system. The setup does not required. But if u have used any other components in the project then again it requires the setup to make them to transfer to win folder or keep them beside by EXE File.

Can you say in which menu of VB6.0 is the Package and Deployment Wizard ?

I'de use the Visual Studio Installer which creates an .MSI

.MSI's are the preferred method since they work with Windows Installer service.

However, the VS Installer will need to be downloaded (it is free) if not available.

You access it from Visual Studio Enterprise Tools from All Programs/Visual Studio 6.0

If its not there, you can download it:

Its very easy to use (point/click stuff). However, heres a nicely written tutorial on using it:

              Good luck

first what version of VB are you using ???

if you are using VB.net (which is VB 2005) then do this

                debug > start debugging

                close the debugging mode.

navigate to the location where that project is saved...

there will be a folder named "what ever the project name is", open it

                follow this :

bin > debug > "what ever the project name is".exe

that is the executable file for your project, and none of the messing around with installing this and that

                hope it helped

Go to File menu then there will be an option named MAKE PROJECT(project name) .EXE
when you click on that option the program will compile your project to .exe format after that you will be able to run that EXE on any computer without VB
