Visual Basic .Net 2003 install problem

I am trying to install Visual Basic .Net 2003 version on my 2.8 GHz Intel
machine running Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2 installed. I have
previosuly installed this edition before installing Service Pack 2, and it
worked well. Now when I try to install I get the following: "Setup has
detected some of the system components that are installed on your computer do
not match the version required for Visual Basic .Net. You must install a
different version of these components." Does anyone know why this is
happening and how I can remedy the situation? Thanks.

First off, this is for the most part not a .Net group; people here
    usually can't and/or won't answer your questions.

Now, did you go to windowsupdate.c om and see if there's an upgrade for
the .Net framework (or whatever it's called these days) that you can
install? If so, that may solve your problems right there.

If not, I'd suggest going to this group for help:
    news:microsoft. public.language s.vb
(There are others but that's the one I go to on the rare occasion I need
    to.)
