    US-CA-L.A. - VISUAL BASIC ALLEN BRADLEY PROGRAMMER WANTED


    PROCESS CONTROLS/VISUAL BASIC PROGRAMMERS

    SALARY: TO $100,000

    LOCATION: LOS ANGELES AREA

    Our Client has recently acquired process automation systems used to monitor
    and control their asphalt drum operations.

    The architecture for this system is an Allen-Bradley SLC 5/04 PLC talking to
    a Windows 98/2000 PC. The PC runs an application in Visual Basic 6, and
    talks to the PLC serially via an InGear driver.

    We are looking for a qualified person who can review, document, build,
    support, and enhance the existing Visual Basic application, as well as train
    others.

    Job Duties
    - Work with vendor to complete intellectual property transfer
    - Review the existing source code and fully comment and document
    - Develop testing procedures for validating the source code in the lab
    environment
    - Compile/build/test the application in the test lab
    - Make enhancements to the application as directed
    - Travel to plant sites to install, check out, and verify installation
    - Provide troubleshooting support for existing installations
    - Train other staff to handle the duties described above

    Education and Experience Requirements

    - Minimum high school education or equivalent, technical degree preferred
    - Production / manufacturing experience preferably in asphalt operations
    - Experience in developing process automation systems, interfacing with
    controls equipment
    - Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the following technologies:

    o Allen-Bradley PLC hardware and configuration using RSLogix 500
    o Real-time serial communications
    o Microsoft Access database engine
    o Development of real-time Visual Basic 6.0 applications
    o Windows 98/2000 programming and system administration
