Visual Basic 4 code import problem...

    Hi,

I hope that you can help me wit this one please and apologies if
i'm in the wrong forum! I recently bought a book that contaiend a
CD-ROM of very useful Visual Basic algoritms.
Now these algoritms are written in visual basic 4 I'm having
difficulty importing the projects into Visual Studio .NET. I get an
error message stating: "The Visual Basic 6.0 project file is corrupted
    or cannot be read".
Can anyone tell me what I should do to make these work. Can you
recommend any good, free visual basic 4 editors that I can downlaod
and install. Should I be aware of anything else (I'm new to the VB
    universe).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice/recommendations etc...

    Cheers,
    Al.
    The newbie.

Almost everybody in this newsgroup is using VB6 or lower. While you may
get a stray answer to VB.NET questions here, you should ask them in
newsgroups devoted exclusively to .NET programming. Look for newsgroups
with either the word "dotnet" or "vsnet" in their name.

For the microsoft news server, try these newsgroups...

    microsoft.publi c.dotnet.genera l
    microsoft.publi c.dotnet.langua ges.vb
    microsoft.publi c.vsnet.general

There are some others, but these should get you started.
