Memory could not be read

I have VB application in which several procedures are called. In one
procedure, i used Ref cursors. But when I am running the application,
I am getting error "Memory could not be Read". If i remove tyhe Ref
Cursors, then no errors in the application. The exact error is
The instruction at "0x286a87cf " referenced memory at "0x00000074 ". The
memory could not be "read".
Please help me in solving the problem. My database version is
8.1.7.0.0.
