    Un-source safe a project...

How do I totally remove source safe from a project? I built a project from
Source Safe, then I deleted all the source save files from the working
folder. That let me load up and write to the files, but I still get "Do you
want to check out" or other types of messages. I don't want to split or
branch or anything else. I want a totaly source-safe free project. How do
    I do it?

    Thanks.

    (1) Get out of VB. You must not have your project loaded for the next
steps. Best not to have any projects loaded, so just don't have VB
    running.
    (2) Get rid of any and all .scc files in you project folder.
    (3) Load up your project in VB.

You will get one more message asking if you want to put the project under
source safe control. Just say no (Thank you, Nancy Reagan).

VB will create a new MSSCCPRJ.SCC file but that is OK.
