You can do this 2 different ways. You can download the iso file and burn the iso to a dvd and then you can install it from the dvd. You can also select to directly install it without downloading the iso file. If you are looking for a Free version you will want to look for the (Express) versions. I like to download the Visual Studio All In One iso file and burn it to a dvd because, you will always have it handy if you need to reinstall it. It has (Visual Basic, Visual C#, Visual C++, and Visual Web Developer) all included so you can choose which ones you want installed. If you know you only want Visual Basic then you can also choose to download just Visual Basic. Anyways here is a link to download 2010 and 2012 versions
