Looping through a dataset

I have a dataset that is filling a data adapter and what I'm needing to do is to loop through all of the lines in my dataset and determine if there are edits/changes when a user fires a buttonclick event which will then post the edits/changes back to my database. Can someone tell me

1. Is this possible?
2. The best way to do it if it is.
