[BRAHM]

Hi Folks,

I am finding out a dozen of problems to get VSS 2005 working for my vb.net
projects.

is there any "how to" about VSS ? I have browsed a dozen of links.. and I
have found only features.

I have a project and I want to include it in VSS 2005. I have tried.. but it
is not work as I want.

Please any help is welcome.

Take a look at SourceGear Vault - it's much nicer than VSS.

SourceGear Vault is free for 1 developer.

Take a look at SourceGear Vault - it's much nicer than VSS.

Yeah, but it requires SQL Server which ain't cheap.

The simplest way to add a new project at the root level is to select
the root, right click, and click on New Project. Then select the new
project and click on the Add Files toolbar button to add all of the
source files. It is also recommended that you configure VS to
automatically log into SS when you open a project under SS control.

Just checked, it works with SQL Express. I think SQL Express has a 4GB
limit which is HUGE for a SourceCode repository. In fact, our company
SourceGear vault is ~250 after 1 year or so.

In anycase, definately worth looking into Vault - it pretty much gets
raving reviews all around :-)

Vault and Dragnet are free when used by a single user. Simply install the
software without entering any license serial number. When no serial number
is entered, Vault and Dragnet will behave as if exactly one license were
present. Note that this free license does not apply when the product is used
by more than one person. If you have two people who need to use Vault, you
will need to purchase two licenses. When no serial number is entered, the
product will behave as if exactly one license were present. If you enter
a serial number containing one license, then the product will still have
exactly one license present.
