    What is Visual Web Developer?

I'm getting started writing WEB program in VB2005. I'm been doing
windows apps to date. A friend told me to get Visual Web Developer
Express Edition. But I have Visual Studio Pro 2005 and it says I have
Visual Web Developer in it. I'm just not sure what that is and how to
    start it. Any advise?

Visual Web Developer (express) is the "express edition" of the Visual Studio
2005 but this supports only ASP.Net web programs.
So, considering that you have Visual Studio 2005 Pro, you don't need Visual
    Web Developer.

    Bye,

      Hi Cj,

As Carmine has said, Visual Web Developer is one of the Express IDE of
Visual Studio 2005 Express series. You can download it individually from
      MSDN website:

#N Home Visual Studio Home Visual Studio Express Visual Web Developer
      http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/vwd/

Or if you have Visual Studio 2005 professional or team suite installed,
"Visual Web Developer" is already included in it. You start developing
ASP.NET web application through the "Web Site" project (or "Web Application
Project" if you have installed Visual Studio 2005 service pack1)

Here are some reference introducing developing ASP.NET web application in
      Visual Studio 2005(web developer express):

      #Visual Web Developer
      http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...93(VS.80).aspx

      #Introduction to Web Application Projects
      http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...80(vs.80).aspx

Hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please feel free to
      post here.

      Sincerely,

      Steven Cheng
