    Save File

    Web Application VB.Net VS2005

    Hey there,
    My web application allows users to upload files to the server, mainly
    images. At the moment a user can view a file and display it in a new IE
    window. I would like to now add a feature that will allow the user to
    download the file instead, giving the user a save diaglog box or
    something similiar. I am very unsure on the code on how to do this. Any
    Help would be wonderful.

      Bonzol,

      Is uploading mostly a lot of work (in aspnet it is a piece of cake)
      downloading is easy, just embed it in an anchor <a href and than the place
      of the file, the rest is automaticly done by the browser.

          Any ASP questions are better asked in the ASP.NET forum:

          Microsoft.Publi c.DotNet.Framew ork.ASPNET

          Not being funny, but Cor isn't the best person to answer your question when
          you see his ASP.NET website with all the problems on it. Not a good example

                  If you don't know the difference between ASP and ASPNet than please don't
                  tell people where they have to ask questions. In ASPNET can all the managed
                  Net languages be used on the server side therefore this newsgroup is one of
                  those for questions about that.

                  Things as installation and use without the language but just Drag and Drop
                  as you create probably websites is not for the language newsgroup. As well
                  is the framework newsgroup not for ASP for that are other newsgroeps.

                  Your comments on our website are completely without content. It sound as a
                  kid. We know that there things are not yet ready on our website (although 90
                  procent is ready but not published), however when you can point us on things
                  we can improve we will be glad. There are emailboxes on it and those are
                  fully operating. However wait some weeks with that because of reasons that
                  are not needed to tell you but sad enough.

                  This kind of throwing dirt is something from kids from about 12. If you are
                  that age, than I have said nothing.

                      Newbie,

                      If you're speaking about the typo's on Cor's site, that doesn't in any way
                      detract from the content of his site. The way in which he says something may
                      be tough to catch sometimes, but the code on the site is correct, insofar as
                      I have been able to determine in my limited abilities.
