Microsoft Certification

[Mitchell Vincent]

I'm interested in some Microsoft developer certification. How should I
go about finding a place locally that offers the classes? The local
community college offers MCSE and networking classes but I'm more
interested in developer type certification (what ever that may be).

The certification you are looking for is MCSD, Microsoft Certified
Solutions Developer. If you look online, you should be able to find
where the classes are near you, and I believe Microsoft has self-study
CDs and books.

The certification you are looking for is MCSD, Microsoft Certified
Solutions Developer. If you look online, you should be able to find
where the classes are near you, and I believe Microsoft has self-study
CDs and books.

the certs that you want are MCAD (three exams) and MCSD (two more).

You can prepare for these on your own (I'd recommend using Microsoft's
Texts AND the text from another reputable vendor if you decide to do it
*entirely* on your own).

If it is within your means, I would highly recommend using an "itcap"
certified school (e.g. http://www.techskills.com/main.asp) that offers
training for these programs -- it has been my experience that they
cover some of the things that you need to know for the exams that are
not in the text books...

Microsoft , has a very good certification track for Developers


as a certified developer there are three "titles"

MCP , MCAD , MCSD


a MCP is a person who did at least one core exam of the MCSD track that
gives the right to hold the title MCP ( Microsoft Certified
Professional )
a MCAD ( introduced in the .Net track ) is a developer who did the MCSD
track with one exception and that is the solution`s architecture exam
a MCSD is a developer who did the hole MCSD track

I bought the self paced training kits ( VS6 and .Net ) and did my exams
with VUE this is the cheapest way to get certified but it will also be the
hardest way to learn as you have to do everything yourself
