    OutLook Exchange Server and SQL

Quick question but some background first.

I use MS Access with SQL Server as my BE (tables). The main source of my new and updated records come from a linked Outlook Public Folder which get parsed with Access and then "stuffed" into their respective tables.

Although this method works, it has become slow and seems a bit cumbersome.

Is there a way to link the OL Folder directly to SQL?

    Thanks in advance!

    Nauticalgent:
I remember seeing something about this in one of the programing for Outlook books at Barnes-And-Noble ages ago; however, at the time it wasn't something I was doing so I didn't study the code or concepts - I didn't buy the book either.

What I do remember is that it used a ADODB connection

Quick query turns up a generic Con

    Code:
    sConnString = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=INSTANCE\SQLEXPRESS;" & _
       "Initial Catalog=YourSqlDataBaseNameHere;" & _
       "User ID=YourUserNameHere;Password=YourPassWordHere;"
If you google search on "Outlook ADODB Connection" it turns up a lot of different ideas.

Just a bit out of my depth interfacing Outlook-Exchange to SQL-Server

      Z,

I was hoping you would see this and weigh in. You seemed to have a good understanding of OL Folders from a previous thread and I figured you might have something to offer.

The ADODB connection makes sense because everything I have read about SQL talks about how ADO is better suited for SQL Server than DAO.

I found the same results you did with a Dr Google consult session but before I’m chase that rabbit down the hole, I wanted to see if anyone else had also.

      Thanks for the reply.
