We've just had a server go down. The operating system seems to be corrupted, so we'll likely need to reinstall everything on that drive.
The operating system and programs, including SQL Server, are on the C: drive.
The databases are all on the D: drive. D: seems OK. I've never run into this case. What happens now?
If we have to rebuild the C: drive and reinstall SQL Server, what state will the databases be left in? Will they think they're still "attached" to something, or will I be able to simply boot up SSMS and attach each of them to the new instance without issue?
If anyone with experience could let me know what to expect in this scenario, I would greatly appreciate it. The databases seem fine. How do I go about getting them back up and running if we have to reinstall everything?
