Difference between sql server 200 and 2005

This would be a very long list ! If you are looking for reasons to upgrade then some features to consider might be SQL Server Integration Services (a qunatum leap beyond DTS), ability to call managed code like C# from TSQL, the Xml DataType and ability to work with Xml which is a massive step forward from what 2000 offered.
