sqlserver.exe-Applicatyion Error

I am installing sqlserver 2005 express edition in my system.But in the middle of installation system is restarting and i am getting following error message.

sqlserver.exe-Application Error

The exception unknown software exception(0xc06 d007e) occured in the application at location 0x7c59bc81

I don't know why this error is happening.

Please any one help me.

When you try reinstalling does the error still occur?
Do you have a previous version of SQL Server installed? If so, you will need to uninstall that first.
Is .NET up to date? Try updating the .NET framework and trying again.

If these do not work, I would strongly suggest you contact Microsoft about this problem.

I ununstalled all the previous versions of sql server and my .Net framework is up to date.But still i am getting this problem when reinstalling Sql Server

Dowload SQL Server 2005 Upgarde Advisor from microsoft. Its free and a very good tool. This will analyze and give you a report if your server is good enough for installation.

Go through the report thoroughly and try a a re-install.
