    Query Analyzer question

    How do I open more than one existing *.sql file at a time without
    closing the first? When I want to open more than one saved query
    file, the first one closes. Also, when building a new *.sql file,
    when I want to open a saved one for reference, QA assumes I want to
    close the new one, and prompts me to save/cancel.

    This seems to be a simple thing to want to do, and I'm not finding any
    option to bring QA's behavior into line with every other application
    I've used.

    Is this its designed behavior?

      Have you tried to first choose "Query|New query" and then opening an
      existing query in the new window?
      (This is the menu in the 7.0 version)

          It's not very intuitive, but you have to first open a "new" (blank)
          query, then if you open an existing.sql file it drops it into the
          blank window.
