    Upgrading MY preformance

Hello all! I'm a newly appointed database administrator and have been
struggling with my consious about what would make me an excellent
database administrator. I've worked in Access for years and know that
    if your comfortable with:
    1. writing expressions
    2. writing some VBA
    3. the basics with Tables, Forms, Queries and Reports.

and you'd be sitting pretty. SQL Server is a little more robust than
Access and i'm not sure where I should start.

I'm comfortable with writing T-SQL statments, backing up, and creating
users. but other than that, i'm a little lost on what else i should
    know.

    thanks.

    Hi

You should take time to read books online:

    mk:@MSITStore:C :\Program%20Fil es\Microsoft%20 SQL%20Server\80 \Tools\Books\ad m
    insql.chm::/ad_mon_perf_00m r.htm

If you wish to persue this further then you may want to buy some books, of
which there are many including among others:

SQL Server 2000 Performance Turning Technical Reference ISBN 0-7356-1270-6
Inside Microsoft SQL Server 2000 by Kalen Delaney ISBN 0-7356-0998-5

    Magazines (among others) such as:
ITPro Today, Network Computing and IoT World Today have combined with TechTarget.com. The page you are looking for may no longer exist.

    Sites (among others):
SQL Server 2025 redefines what's possible for enterprise data. With developer-first features and integration with analytics and AI models, SQL Server 2025 accelerates AI innovation using the data you already have.

Find official documentation, practical know-how, and expert guidance for builders working and troubleshooting in Microsoft products.
