QUESTION: No Support for SQL 2K on W2K3??

    Hi, all.

I'm setting up a SQL 2000 install on a Windows 2K3 server box.

When I launch setup, I get a warning screen that the software is not
    supported.

But the install works, I can create databases, and all seems okay.

What's up with this? Would I not get MS Support with this
    configuration?

    Thanks,

    BD

If you install SP4 (and you should) you'll be fine. And that config is
    supported.

Sounds good. I saw the warning screen but didn't look all that close -
I think it only warned against SP2 and lower...

Correct, but as SP4 is the latest, there's very little reason not to use it.

          Oh yes; I quite agree.

But note that if you have a machine with more than 2GB memory, you should
get hotfix 2040, the build number after SP4.

                Ah, good point.

I'm facing the situation next weekend.
