I need to provide SQL server for 100 or 50 VB clients. Please suggest
the configuration for the above.

It's impossible to give any useful answer without much more information, and
even then it might not be possible - you know your requirements and
environment best. In addition to the MS documentation, some hardware vendors
provide sizing tools for their servers, so that could be worth checking out.
