Licensing on Unicode Implementation in a Embedded System

    Hi,

I’m trying to implement Unicode in an embedded system, but do I need to apply or pay some licensing fee in order to implement Unicode in a system that will be sold in the consumer market?

    Regards,

Unicode is an international standard and free to all.

I have heard from some sources saying that we will need to pay a fee to some organisation if we want to implement some of the chinese characters blocks from Unicode. Have you ever heard it before?

As for the implementing of Unicode, are there any info on the default way to display the characters (in pixel format, using 5 by 10 pixels or 20 by 40 pixels or etc)? It seems to me that there isn't any standard or default way to display Unicode characters.
