    Distributable software

There is so much info out here! Hope I am not typing a questions someone else has already asked.

I want to develop software I can market on a disk. I need to incorporate a calendar, reports (generated from a DB), ability to query and calculate. What programming language should I start reading? (Multiplatform would be ideal.) Do you know of a good beginners book for your suggested language(s)?

    Any help would be appreciated!

It all depends on u dear ,what u r comfortable with.
Dont go for anything ,because someone told you to do so.

I might suggest you somthing because i like that and master the trade, which might be very difficult for you.

For u the choice is wide open.
Only u need to choose the most suitable one for u.

I have used basic (basic) HTML a few years ago. All of the books I can find are for client/server based software or building apps on the Web. (I thought I could use C+, clarion (etc) with SQL. However, clarion is limited to windows. and SQL is client server.)

I am sure this will take years to develop, so even if a suggestion may be hard for me, I have time & I can read. I am expecting the process to be challenging. (Esp. since my computer background is in Microsoft Office. hehe)

Something I didn't type in my first post. I need the user to have the ability to add records.

      Suggestions?
