    Does anyone know what a step lock cycle is and can describe how thin clients can help a business avoid beign trapped in a step lock cycle

    I have no idea what the step lock cycle is, though I'd guess it either has to do with people accessing the same information at the same time, who is allowed to modify it or not..., or something with upgrading the machines and applications. Anyone else know?

          Hmmm, I would imagine that thin clients would be doing what is described as the Triple Redundancy - and that a company could avoid having a lock, or failure of a stage, by having several thin clients doing the same thing and checking each other - if there is verification of a success, then that is given as the basis for the next.

          That's just my best guess, though.

            Another way to accomplish this is to use multiple threads that compare their result against each other or a list of valid states. Then when a state is determined to be valid, it can be added to the list.
