Remote management software

Hi All,

I want to apologize up front as I am not a programmer at all. I am a product manager by trade, but I am working with some folks on a startup company.

I am trying to find a software platform that will update and manage various "units" (stand alone hardware units) nationally. These units will store different kinds of data including multi-media data along with sales data and the like.

As one of my partners put it: "a platform for remote management (updating, firmware updates, file transfer (potentially timed) using python for a Linux system"

Again, sorry if I am not making *much* sense here but I am looking for a point in the right direction. I can provide more detail if anyone needs it.

Hi Again,

I see alot of people have looked at this post but none have replied. I assume my question does not make a lot of sense but I am truly looking for some direction. The issue is that I am looking for some kind of remote system to manage various hardware units that can be anywhere nationwide (not that it really matters where they are as remote is via the internet). I know the development language we want to use is Python and the boxes that this will run on will be linux. Again, I am the business guy so I know I am not being clear. But can anyone point me in the right direction, ask for more info and I will get it, etc. I would really appreciate it.
