Copy a file from a folder to another

What have I done?
I have indicated the source folder as $source, destination folder as $destination and file name as $file, did all operations needed in my code, but have not figured how do I copy the file to another folder, like build that little piece of code.
Could someone give me a tutorial with the necessary commands or an example?
