WAMP SERVER does not run on browser

    Dear Profs,

Please I've just installed WAMP server on my system. Before I used to use IIS 6 on WIN 7.
However, I have tried to run the localhost on WAMP, but it does not run, rather, it still DISPLAYS IIS 7 home page. I have uninstalled the IIS 6 web server and deleted all its folders from the c:\inetpub\..., yet it it still running IIS 7 on the browser. Please what do I do to run php-localhost on the browser.

    Thank you.

You still have the IIS7 Webserver installed, This needs to be uninstalled before installing any other type or WAMP/LAMP Server on your computer

    Steps:
    Uninstall WAMP - Restart Computer
Goto Control Panel > Uninstall a Program > Turn Windows Features on or Off
Ensure the Tickbox on the following options are NOT selected

+ Internet Information Services (All Sub Categorys Aswell)
+ Internet Information Services Hostable Web Core

Once you have unselected these options select "Ok"

Your Windows will go through some configuration settings and so forth, once this has completed, Restart again a final Time,

Once you have restarted your computer Reinstall Wamp, Ensure Ports 3306, 80, 443, 21 Are unblocked on your firewall, Unless you are using this as a Local Development Server i suggest you keep these Firewall Ports Blocked to stop outside intrusions, You will be able to access Wamp via http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 With the ports still block

    Happy Coding and Developing!!
    Chris

      Hi,

Please make sure that wamp is running at other port than 80, because normally IIS use port 80 to run itself.

You can change wamp port , please check following link
