Filtering Alumni members by matching their firstname and lastname ...

i have a thesis about Alumni Directory of our School..Our problem is that how to filter members that have already have records on our database.. if he wants to join on the site he must fill in right Firstname, Lastname, Course and Year..but the problem is that for example we could match like
    Code:
firstname LIKE '%fname%' AND lastname LIKE '%lname%'
but there are many same names and lastnames in our records .. how could we target to the person who has a firstname and lastname with the said course and graduated year... ive got this idea from www.PLUalumni.c om...hoping for your generous response thanks ...in advance

Just add additional filters to target the course and year.

If you're asking whether or not you can enforce uniqueness, the answer is yes. If you're asking whether it is unique in the real world, the answer is no.

You already have the basics in your filter, you just need to add the two additional criteria that you want.
