reading excel(spreadsheet) file from php

hello everybody,

can anybody have solution for reading excel from php.

my requirement is like this :

Initially i have to read the excel file and i need to insert that values into database table.

i searched in the internet i got solution like their is a package called "excelreade r"
i downloaded from website i am not understanding and moreover i am not getting enough files.

please let me know other than this.

I cam across a class that could do that a while back. You can get it at SourceForge.net.

You can find an example of how to use it in this thread.
And there is some documentation here.

Have never tried it myself, but it did seem to work for the OP in that thread.
