    Adding PHP5 Support to apache

    Hi,

    i'm currently running php4 on my apache 2. now i want to add a php5
    support. is there a tutorial how to add also php5 to the webserver?

    Linux or windows? What distro or version?

    Have you RTFM on PHP installation?

      you can't run both, btw so php5 will replace php4.

        Wrong. You can run both on the same webserver (you just have to set
        different handlers for different virtualhosts or file extensions).

        OK, it might be a bit stupid to do so, but it's possible nonetheless.

          On a single development server, having the possibility to run something
          both as PHP4 & PHP5 is indeed a plus. Not for production indeed.

            I have vague memories of the default Apache server that came with Mandrake
            being patched to run both PHP 4 *and* PHP 5 as modules when PHP 5 first
            came out. I doubt it still is though.
