    Newbie. Help with making forum?

Hi. I'm currently making a free medical revision site for medical students. A forum is critical to the development of my site. My sever has phpbb 2.01 which does not support subforums. Is there any way i can make my own custom froum from perl or php. I would greatly appreciate any help or guidance that any one can give. My website is http://www.usmlestudyg uide.com. As you can see it is still under construction..

    HI!
Yes, you can make your own forum. Its not a big deal making one. However, if you do not have time to make one, you can use my freeware, (Versa - Discuss), its a free discussion / forum sotware written by me in pure php.
Its a beta version and developed bout a month ago and is currently employed in one website on the web.
I would be more than happy to give em to you. But then, all I would request you to do is have link back to my site. More after you respond.

      Hi,

I think u r using Fantastico for implementing the forum in ur site. Instead of using that u can download phpbb latest stable version and upload all the files in server. Then u need to run a installation script which will be available with ur forum directory.

cyberking, its really very nice to hear that u have developed a forum. I hope it is customisable to fulfill different client need. The great advantage of using codes which are freeware is that, u will have many people working on that code and correcting different bugs in the application. Also u will get different mods available to fulfill ur need.

        Hi Susen!

Yes. The whole idea of my freeware is to provide the entire code to my users / ones ready to use it. Yea! Its completely customisable, meanin you can make it match upto 99% with your site. Thereby, it looks neat.
It's going to be born as a Ready To use (Complete Package) from a Beta pack in bout two days time. Is there any way by which I can provide it for download here? That would be great!!
