Calling external library functions

[Jeff Rodriguez]

I want to call functions from the LibXML library, I'm not aware of any functions
in PHP that would allow me to do so. PERL does this quite often, and I was
wondering if I'm just blind and couldn't find the functions or if this ability
doesn't exist in PHP?
