I am trying to compile PHP 5.2.0 on a Gentoo Linux system. The
configure script hangs at "checking whether pwrite works . . .". It
sits there, apparently idle, for several minutes and then drops out to
a command prompt with nothing to indicating what may be going wrong.
I've tried reinstalling glic as I believe pwrite() is part of it. Any
ideas?
