If you are planning to host a driving school site (which appears
to be the case based on your signature), I'd say you need a more
powerful (and much more expensive) hosting option. A dedicated
server, perhaps?

Thanks for the post.
All I need is a way to post articles about several different
categories related to driving and traveling. Is XOOPS good for this?

For what it's worth, I played around with XOOPS for several weeks and
had some problems with it. I can't remember exactly what was wrong
(it's been several months), but I eventually got so frustrated that I
uninstalled it and went to PHP-Nuke. You may want to compare those two
products.

Thanks for the info. I am using a web hosting company that does offer
both.
Let me tell you what I want to do, and see if you think PHP-Nuke will
do it.
I want to post some advice type articles. These would be tips on
driving, auto repair, auto maintenance, safety, etc. I will offer
either ads, affiliate links, or other revenue producing links at the
bottom of the page. (I am sure no one else on the web has thought
about this, so don't go and give my idea a way.)
What I would like to do is have a content management system that:
1. makes it easy to enter and publish a new page with a minimum of
formatting, i.e. the formatting is predefined and all I have to do is
type in the article I want to publish.
2. let's me add links within the content on this page that point to
other sites
3. let's me add photos to this page
4. easily puts the page I just entered into a navigational structure,
or easily let's me modify the navigational structure
5. as a plus, I would love to be able to categorize pages and have
them put into a navigational structure by these categories.
For example, if I offer an advice page on a child's car seat, this
page might show up under the categories child auto safety, car seats,
or traveling, and I might add categories of seats by age, seats by
manufacturer, and seats by design. (By the way, this is just an
example. These categories are mentioned as a hypothetical case.) If
I review a car seat and add a page on a particular car seat, I would
prefer not to have to enter the car seat review page 6 times, as in
the above six categories. I would rather enter it once, input the 6
categories, and have the page show up in all six categories.
I have looked at PHP-Nuke and thought it was for more of a blog type
system. Since I have looked at a lot of content management systems, I
may be getting PHP-Nuke mixed up with another one. But I did look at
PHP Nuke and did not think it was suitable.
Of all of the cms's my web hosting company offers, it looked like from
their examples that XOOPS was the closest to my needs.
Now that is why I am on this newsgroup because I know how something
can look good in a demo and perform quite differently in the real
world.
So thanks for the "heads up" on XOOPS, and do you think PHP-Nuke might
suit my needs better?
Cheers to everyone,
