Setting up a RSS reader with PHP

Hi guys
This is my 1st post on here - love the site and clearly think its a valuable asset!
Basically - having the worst nightmare of my life and am now at my wits end! I'm trying to insert and RSS reader on my site in PHP . . .can I succeed? in short - nope! After trying for 3 days now Im all but ready to give up. Could anyone out there programme this for me? I'm pretty savvy when it comes to learing new stuff - but this PHP business is driving me crazy and I really want the RSS up and running. Would greatly appreciate any advice offered and definitely credit accordingly! :-)

Sb, No way! Try it yourself and I'm glad to help but I'm not in the business of doing other peoples programming for them unless they pay my salary.

As b1randon already told you: this is a site for programmers helping other programmer with problems, difficulties getting their scripts working, coding questions, etc.

This is not a code factory nor an on-demand programming centre. If you have made yourself an RSS feed script, and that doesn't work for some reason: fine. We will all we can do to help and assist.

I'll give you one tip: try some googling around.

I'm trying to put a live RSS feed on my site and have the code to do so. It is:

I've changed the file extension in page inspector to: .php
Now, apparantly I need to do something on my web server??
The php is currently set to PHP 4 - does this need changing to PHP 5?

The instructions that came with the script are as follows:

"For Apache Servers Edit your .htacess with AddType application/x-httpd-php .htm .html Then Add the php code from the reader directly to your html pages

For Apache Servers Edit your .htacess with either .htm server parsed .html server parsed or
Addhandler application/x-httpd-php .html .php Then follow the directions below to use the php code from the reader with SSI Includes.For Apache Servers Edit your .htacess with AddType application/x-httpd-php .htm .html Then Add the php code from the reader directly to your html pages

Which of course means nothing to me!! (I'm a former die hard dot Mac user - this is all a bit over my head right now!)

I've tried for 3 days to crack this - so any help would seriously be appreciated! Thankyou in advance :-)

I just plugged it into one of my pages and it worked fine.

What version of PHP are you using? I am using 4.2

Also I took out all of the spaces from your above code and made sure the include statement was on one line.

Are you sure that your server is PHP-enabled? Have you run phpinfo() to verify that?
