    Seeking php programer

Hi, we are a non-profit healthcare agency in San Diego, CA. We are
currently expanding to form a business involving Open Source
technolodgy in the healthcare industry. We are in DIRE need of a
    programmer who knows php.

If anyone has experience, knows someone they can refer us to, or can
help in ANY way, please contact me ASAP.

This is an amazing opportunity to get involved in the future of
    technology in the healthcare industry.

    Thank you,

    Brian

I don't know what it means in CA, but in the UK it means that the
company/institution can't make a profit. They do pay people and to be
honest quite often overpay for IT people (as they don't know what they're
      doing).

      Cheers,

      Andy

Not as good as 'las vegas' though .

Some camera in the middle of the desert blured pixelated video footage
was ran though a secret cia video filter the casino managed to get and
it turned the zoomed in pixelated footage into broadcast quality .

              Andy,

Same thing here in the U.S. However, it generally also means they don't have
enough to pay the going rate, and may be looking for a "donation".

I can't say about this offer, though.

I work for a non-profit, the minus is the low pay (usually but not all
the time), but the benefit is long term stability and long-term
projects. Projects such as this aren't 'get it out the door' one-off
jobs but lets build something that actually works and keep refining it
type stuff. Along with this is a lot less stress and knoing you are
                doing good stuff.

You can get long term stability and long term projects in the commercial world,
also. Yes, there is the pressure to get it out the door - but the emphasis in
good development shops is to get something that works well. It's not at all
                  unique to non-profits.

Stress also depends on the job and the company. I've done some pro-bono work
for non-profits which has been incredibly stressful. And some which has had no
                  stress.

But yes, there is the thought that you know you're doing something good. That
counts a lot, which is why I still do pro bono work.
