I started with "Programmin g PHP" by O'Reilly and kinda picked up on mysql from
    random tutorials and such online.

I would suggest "PHP and MySQL Web Development" as a beginners guide to
using the two together. It's a Sam's Publishing book that you can find
      here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0672326728

          I would recommend:

"PHP5 and MySQL Bible" published by WILEY.

Also very good is http://www.php.net if you need something.
